240 gsm of combed ring-spun cotton, knit in the round so there is no side seam to twist. Garment dyed, boxy, and heavy enough to hold its shape.
Most branded tees are 150 gsm. This one is 240, which is the weight the good basics labels settled on: heavy enough to hang straight off the shoulder instead of clinging, light enough to wear through a Dhaka summer.
The yarn is combed ring-spun cotton. Combing pulls the short fibres out before spinning, which is how a heavy fabric still feels smooth rather than coarse. The body is knit in the round, so there is no side seam to twist after a wash.
Garment dyed and pre-shrunk, so the black stays black and the fit you get on day one is the fit you keep. The collar is ribbed and taped across the back neck. Hem and cuffs are double-needle stitched.
The wordmark is screen printed at the chest in water-based ink, which sits in the fabric rather than on top of it. It softens with the shirt instead of cracking off it.
Sizes run true. If you want the boxy look with more room, take the next size up.
